Bones & stones
While continuing with the Earthsigns series, I have also began exploring the complex forms of bones and stones – often collected while out walking. It is interesting how they evoke the passage of time – rocks eroded by weather, bones damaged by predation and the footfall of walkers. The drawings are a record of my interaction with them, picking them up, turning them over, noticing the details of shape and structure, feeling their heaviness or lightness.

Work in progress
Here are photos of work at various stages with objects related to the drawings – giving a sense of my working process.
